A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT
Over a span of approximately two and a half weeks, Isabelle and I worked together to create a complete brand package for Katya. With photography and concept direction provided by Katya, we divided up the work in which Isabelle developed the brand identity and I focused on the editorial components.
My role in the project primarily consisted of translating Katya’s narrative as a photographer into physical deliverables. Using the brand guidelines established by Isabelle, I designed, printed, and assembled all elements for a print publication and set of postcards.
KEY DELIVERABLES
The scope of this brand identity project included a logo, a refreshed web portfolio, business cards, postcard set, and publication design.
BRAND IDENTITY
Katya’s original website already had the bones of a style we like: a gallery layout, with minimal type. We kept how she divided up her work using sections, continuing to build out a “places” and “music” page while adding a new “people” page.

New Home Page
For the new website, we simplified the navigation and applied the updated brand guidelines. The gallery layout has also been modified slightly to maintain the original aspect ratio of each photo with minimal cropping.

BUSINESS CARDS
Leaning into a vintage aesthetic that pairs typography-driven layouts with Katya’s logo, we created three variations of her business cards.
POSTCARDS
A curated set of prints that highlights some of Katya’s favorites photos taken over recent years. Each card provides context to the photo on the front, such as the subject of a portrait and the location it’s taken in.
PUBLICATION
Showcasing a wider breadth of work in a large format, the publication serves as a physical manifestation of Katya’s digital portfolio. Short narratives are woven throughout the publication, capturing the ephemeral thoughts and feelings experienced at the time the photos were taken.
A special thank you to Isabelle and Katya for allowing me to really delve into my love for print and editorial design. I couldn’t have pulled all of this off without your support and endless encouragement :)
