TED Talk Poster
SCOPE | Typography
THE BRIEF
Create a double-sided, typographic poster to promote a fictional TED Talk event.
THE CONCEPT
“Color Blind or Color Brave” by Mellody Hobson examines the difference between color blindness and color bravery in the context of race and the workplace. Hobson asserts that actively speaking about race, rather than ignoring it, significantly benefits both companies and individuals alike.
To communicate the dual meaning of "color blindness", the poster design combines the dotted pattern of color blind tests with the use of carefully-selected colors.
Ideation Sketches
To visually convey both literal and metaphorical interpretations of color blindness, I explored different ways of symbolizing sight. Through typographically-driven designs, viewers are encouraged to ponder on the deeper meaning behind the terms “color blind” and “color brave.”
